Box Office: 'Civil War' Tops Weekend as 'Godzilla x Kong' Passes 'Godzilla vs. Kong' and 'Dune 2' Nears $700M

A24’s Civil War topped the domestic box office for the second weekend in a row, earning $11.1 million. That’s a 56% drop from its $25.7 million launch, which frankly is a decent hold considering it’s not exactly a crowd-pleaser. It seems to be, by default, the must-see movie of the moment in a “you must experience it for yourself in theaters” fashion, thus overcoming the lack of cinematic good cheer.
