Weekend Box Office: 'Moana 2' Tops $600M Global as 'Wicked Part One' Passes $450M and 'Gladiator II' Tops $360M
The top two musical blockbusters accounted for 64% of the domestic weekend, yet they were big enough to make it a comparatively massive post-Thanksgiving frame.
In today’s holdover weekend box office report…
Moana 2 dropped big for a Disney toon while still earning a massive (and record-sized) post-Thanksgiving Fri-Sun cume while gaining some overseas muscle.
Universal’s Wicked Part One took a third-weekend drop on par with Frozen II, and it continued to play worldwide like the opposite of a Fast & Furious movie.
Gladiator II is still playing like a November-released James Bond movie. It is now Denzel Washington’s biggest domestic and global grosser (sans inflation).
Best Christmas Pageant will soon become Lionsgate’s biggest 2024 domestic earner.
