Box Office: 'Nosferatu' Bites The Big One With Boffo $40M Debut While 'Mufasa' Tops 'Sonic 3' With $63M Holiday Haul
2024 ended with a distinctly 2010s-style holiday weekend, with a slew of films big and small targeting multiple demographics pulling good-to-great weekend grosses.
Honestly, this weekend review won’t be much different from the Friday report since what was projected yesterday mostly came true. Oh, and I overslept this morning. I’m increasingly aware that the extent of my 2010s output was partially due to my mid-30s ability to wake up at 5 am naturally. Regardless, I’m pretty happy with the analysis I offered over the previous three days and don’t want to waste time finding new ways to say the same things. So, if this feels like a déjà vu post, I apologize in advance, but I’ll make it up to you with something “new” later today or early tomorrow, depending on my schedule. Simply put, the weekend ended with a distinctly 2010s-style holiday weekend ($279 million over the Wed-Sun frame), refreshingly closer to 2018 in terms of variety and volume than a “Look out, there’s a Star Wars!” frame that closed out 2015 and 2019.
