Did 'Electric State' Just Bomb on Netflix?
The Russo Brothers' $320 million sci-fi fantasy, starring Millie Bobby Brown and Chris Pratt, nabbed a low (for the streamer) 25 million views in its Fri-Sun debut.
Netflix has reported that 25.2 million viewers sampled the Russo Brothers’ $320 million sci-fi fantasy, The Electric State. That’s below the opening weekend viewership of… just offhand… The Adam Project (52.3 million), Back in Action (46 million), Don’t Look Up (45.9 million), Extraction 2 (43 million), The Mother (42.5 million), Carry-On (42 million), Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F. (41 million over a Wed-Sun debut), Damsel (35 million), Heart of Stone (33.5 million), Our Little Secret (32.4 million), Fall For Christmas (32.2 million), and A Family Affair (26.8 million). Not every Netflix mockbuster must post Red Notice (75 million) numbers. Still, if a mega-budget Hollywood tentpole featuring two alleged movie stars (Chris Pratt and Millie Bobby Brown) garnered fewer “success metrics” than a few randomly selected Lindsey Lohan comedies and star-driven action films, that would be… a conversation.
