Yes, Lupita Nyong'o Is A Movie Star
Chris Nolan's latest "get" works infrequently enough to A) make her films automatic events and B) signal that the movie in question is probably going to be good or great.
Lupita Nyong’o has joined the cast of Christopher Nolan’s latest movie. No word on what the movie is or what it’s called, but the Universal flick will open July 17, 2026 and will probably A) have something to do with time in one form or another and B) look pretty good in Imax. Whether or not it’ll need subtitles, the picture will star Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway and Zendaya. She’s at least as significant of a “get” than even those other A-listers, maybe even more so. In terms of what she brings to the table -- her comparative scarcity (onscreen and off) and a track record for quality – Wild Robot and Quiet Place: Day One headliner Lupita Nyong’o is an old-school, butts-in-seats, A+ added value movie star.
