Super Bowl Weekend Box Office Fumbles

Maybe if more audiences showed to "just a movie" flicks like 'Lisa Frankenstein,' theaters wouldn't be counting the minutes until 'Dune Part Two'

The top movie of this pathetic Super Bowl weekend was not Zelda Williams’ Lisa Frankenstein ($3.8 million) but Matthew Vaughn’s Argylle ($6.5 million). The mega-budget Apple action comedy, distributed theatrically by Universal, dropped 63% for a $28.8 million ten-day cume. That’s a significant drop for a film that didn’t open well in the first place. At this point, it probably will end up just above the $37 million cume of Vaughn’s The Kings Man and the opening weekends of The Kingsman: The Secret Service ($41 million Fri-Mon in 2015) and The Kingsman: The Golden Circle ($40 million Fri-Sun in 2017).
