We had a slew of underwhelming openers. To the shock of no one save for some folks in the media and/or those invested in The Apprentice, moviegoers had little interest in a Donald Trump biopic. Nor did moviegoers much care about seeing a LEGO-animated musical biopic of Pharrell Willaims or a dramedy about the origins of Saturday Night Live. However, A24’s Florence Pugh/Andrew Garfield romantic drama posted solid limited-release numbers while The Wild Robot continued to leg out like a buzzy DreamWorks toon. All that and more…
