Obligatory non-American reality check: Selina’s people are being ethnically cleansed from American soil as we speak and nobody on the left or right seems to care so she needs to find joy wherever she can, rather than being mocked for rightly weeping about it on instagram.
I was talking about giving Selena a hard time for laughing off camera during the best doc acceptance speech. The fault lies with the joker cracker (Sam Jack) and, again, the war hasn’t been a genocide since by no definition does it rise to genocide, but if Trump’s Gaza proposal goes through that would inarguably be a legitimate genocide/ethnic cleansing only it would be the American military that shoulders the responsibility for it. I’m just having a hard time wrapping my head around American progressives worrying about what’s going on in other countries when Trump’s turned America in a fascist regime in a couple of months. The best hope for Gaza would be to impeach him. Otherwise just add it to the list of American-led genocide.

In fairness, that one sticks out in my mind because when I was watching it at uni and it got to the part where Voight says "I'm going to the big city to be a stud," my lady friend who was watching it with me was like "that's totally you." Still not sure how to take that lol.
