Listen now | 'Den of Thieves 2' wins weekend 02 of 2025, so the trio gets a visit from one of the key talents behind Vulture's annual 'Stunt Awards' to explain the score.
It’s unfortunate, though entirely predictable, that Paramount’s Better Man bombed so hard, but I do appreciate their decision to put it and then September 5 in theaters, despite inevitable bad headlines. I hope Paramount still expands September 5 to a sizable amount of theaters (1,000+) next weekend, since I’m interested in seeing that on the big screen. But now that Better Man flopped, the film’s director Michael Gracey should try to make another live-action musical like The Greatest Showman that’s more “fun” and less “based on a true story”. But don’t let him remake Tangled! Paramount needs to put him in the same (Erewhon) prison that they put Adam Wingard in for trying to remake/ continue Face/Off, until they both agree to “rip-off, don’t remake” those stories.
Yeah, I’ve always loved the action movies and glossed over the problematic elements, but now, as a Canadian, with the very real threat of annexation dangling over my head, and my subsequent transformation into an Al Queda-esque freedom fighter looming in the near future, the rah rah America’s death machine is getting harder to swallow.
Yeah, I think a lot of Americans are only familiar with the suburban Canadians from Ontario and don’t realize how crazy many of us have gone living in the hinterlands in the most austere environments on the planet. The hell planet of constant rain that breeds super soldiers in Dune is basically just bc.
