Talking about the accessibility of the Oscar’s nominees, I live 30 minutes outside Philadelphia. NICKEL BOYS and SING SING just opened this week at my local multiplex. The three arthouse cinemas near me never got them. NICKEL BOYS only has two screenings a day at 11:50 AM & 4:00 PM. Poor SING SING only has a single show at 3:45 PM. WTF. Luckily, I was able to clear my Saturday to see both of them. But for most people these are not convenient times. Especially since both will only be there this week. Also, put me down as pro-cat. F them dogs. Please have Crissi back, she was a great guest.

Lisa's right about predicting Happy Gilmore 2 to be the next Top Gun Maverick-style surprise billion-dollar grosser, if only Sandler hadn't permanently sold out to Netflix since 2015, with Scott being right that he was ahead of the curve. But I'm sure we'll read about how it does amazing streaming numbers at least akin to Beverly Hills Cop 4. I hope it's a satirical overly serious and dramatic legacy sequel, like if Cobra Kai acknowledged how silly it actually is that these people still care about their former rivalries decades later. That's at least what the trailer appears to display with Happy and Shooter having a dramatic stand-off at a cemetery. Is Happy's grandma playing the Iceman role, where she's tragically died and Happy goes to her grave to ask for advice like Daniel visiting Mr. Miyagi? They better acknowledge how ridiculous this whole concept is.
